December 2009 Meeting DetailsCAPT General Membership Meeting - Part 2 Durham, N.C. December 12, 2009 The Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will meet in Durham, N.C. on December 12th at Piazza Italia in Brightleaf Square near the new Amtrak station. The restaurant is about a two-block walk from the train station, and is located at 905 West Main Street. The restaurant's phone number is 919 956-7360. The meeting will be held in a private room. Lunch will be at 11:00 a.m. followed by the meeting around noon. Most meals on the lunch menu run around $10.00. After the General Membership meeting, which will feature the election of officers and directors, the CAPT board will meet until around 3:00 p.m. for business matters. Both the Carolinian and Piedmont trains arrive in plenty of time for the meeting, with convenient evening returns if you're planning to come by rail. Meeting agenda is as follows:
"Directors and Officers for the Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will be elected at the December 12, 2009 general membership meeting Part #2 in Durham. Directors serve two years terms, and officers are elected yearly. The Board of Directors consists of 12 to 18 members based on the percentage of CAPT members in North Carolina and South Carolina. This serves as official notice of the annual meeting Part #2 and elections. Anyone interested in running for the board should contact any member of the present board and provide biographical information for consideration, or be prepared to provide this information in person at the meeting. Current directors who are ending a two year term should notify Secretary Phil Astwood at astwoodp@bellsouth.net if they intend to run again, or be at the meeting in person. Those who do not notify the Secretary, or appear at the meeting will not be considered. The current CAPT Board serves as the official Nominating Committee." |
