| The route of the narrow gauge
Catskill Mountain system, shown center in red. The Catskill Mountain
Railway (CM Ry.) extends from Catskill Landing, on the Hudson River,
to a terminus at Palenville. The Cairo Railroad (CRR) runs from a
junction with the CM Ry. at Cairo Junction to Cairo. The Otis
Elevating Railway extends between Otis Junction and Otis Summit. The
Catskill & Tannersville Railway (C&T) extends from Otis
Summit to Tannersville. Also see are the branch lines of the Ulster
& Delaware Railroad (U&D), originating at Phoenicia to
extend up to the Mountaintop communities. The C&T parallels the
U&D's Kaaterskill Railroad between Kaaterskill and Tannersville.
