 Welcome Back to Train Season

 Hello Guys – it’s that time of year again – summer is over and fall, followed by winter is approaching – time to get back into trains – hope to see you all at the club soon !!!

 Limited Production Weaver Cars 

The membership has voted to begin a program of Limited-Production Cars under the Central Operating Lines roadname. The first car will be a Weaver (made in America) 3-Bay Offset Side Hoppers. There are four different named (Amityville, Babylon, Holbrook and Ronkonkoma) and numbered (each car will be numbered the year the club was first in that location) cars. These are true limited editions, and will help promote the Club. Our order will be 120 cars, as 79 cars have already been sold to members, and the remaining cars will be sold at Open Houses and on the Internet. The check to begin production of our cars was mailed to Weaver last week and a PDF of pre-production samples of our cars can be found on our website at: www.trainweb.org/centoplines/ltdprod.pdf

 Video Shoot to Produce New DVDs 

We are again this year producing our own DVDs, which will be sold to members and at Open Houses. Tom Krausz and John Cardona will once again be filming this year’s video and Tom Krausz will be editing and copying the DVDs. We do need your help in running trains for the video shooting and for ideas for this year’s video. Shooting sessions are scheduled for September 8^th, 15^th and 22^nd, from 10am to about 2pm.

 The Shooting Schedule is as follows:

 9/08 – PRR, UP and NYC

9/15 – ATSF, Amtrak and Open-for Suggestions

9/22 – MR, N&W, BN, B&O & Open-for Suggestions

Nominating Committee Formed for Elections

The Nominating Committee has been formed for the 2007 Elections, which will elect our Officers and Directors for 2008 thru 2009. Nominating Committee members are Scott Firestone (Chairman), Larry Laskowski, Bert Erickson and Pete Palma. Please notify one of them if you wish to run for office. Offices are President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and three Directors. Elections will be done by mail in November 2007 with ballots counted and results read at the December Business Meeting.

 Reminder – Join the COL Yahoo! Group

 As most of you know, besides the COL webpage (www.trainweb.org/centoplines). There is also the COL Yahoo! Group (groups.yahoo.com/group/central_operating_lines), which allows message and photo posting, sends calendar reminders and has a COL chat room. If you have internet access, please join; we are trying to increase membership.

 Open Houses and Swap Meets

 The new Swap Meet season starts on October 7^th. Swap Meets are held at the Bohemia Bingo Hall from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. Please come to help setup, teardown and run the Swap Meet and to help raise money for our club.

Our next Open House will be October 27^th and 28^th. Please setup your trains the day before or that morning before 11am. Open House hours are 12 noon to 5 pm.
