Limited
Production Weaver Cars
Our order (of 150 cars) has been shipped out by Weaver and
received this week at Phil’s house. Car distribution will begin on Friday,
October 12th, 2007 after the Business Meeting.
These are true limited edition cars, and will help to promote the
COL. It is still not too late to order cars (or sets of 4 cars). We are also
ordering 100 coal loads from Weaver (this includes 12 extras) for these cars,
cost is $4.25 each ($17.00 for a set of 4) payment is due at the Business
Meeting or as soon as possible. Remaining cars (and coal loads) will be sold
at Open Houses and on the Internet. Please see Phil Gravenhorst or Pete Palma
regarding cars.
Video Shoot to Produce New DVDs
We are again this year producing our own DVDs, Tom Krausz and Ron
Alliegro will once again be filming this year’s video. Shooting is
almost done and Tom Krausz will be editing and copying the DVD’s in time for
the October Open House for sale to members and the public.
Election
Ballots are included with this newsletter. Probationary members, Honorary
members and members on Leave of Absence DO NOT receive Election Ballots. You
must also be a Member in Good Standing (not behind in your dues) to receive an
Election Ballot. Offices are President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer
and three Board of Directors positions. Ballots MUST be returned before Friday,
December 14th,
2007 at 8:00 pm to be counted at the December Business Meeting. New Offices
will begin their new terms of office in January 2008.
Several
members of the COL will be attending the train show in at the York Fairgrounds
in York, Pa on October 18th thru 20th, 2007. We will be
carpooling to the show in several cars, if you would like to join us, please
contact Phil Gravenhorst regarding transportation. I will see you there.
Joe LaRosa has joined the Scenery crew, with Ron
Alliegro. They are working on updating the Engine Yard Area by adding a pop-up
where the big hole is and adding some new building. They are also working on a
better way to do the Water Area with a new product that just came out.
The
Electrical Crew has reinstalled the Z-4000 that was repaired by MTH and has
checked the layout to make sure everything is working correctly for the Open
House season. If you fine any problems with the layout please notify Scott
Firestone or Phil Gravenhorst immediately. Thank you.

As
most of you know, besides the COL webpage (www.trainweb.org/centoplines).
We run a COL Yahoo! Group (groups.yahoo.com/group/central_operating_lines),
which allows message and photo posting, sends calendar reminders of club
events and has a chat room. If you have Internet access, please join the COL
Yahoo! Group.
Open
Houses and Swap Meets
The
next Swap Meet is November 18th. Swap Meets are held at the Bohemia
Bingo Hall from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. Please come to help setup, teardown and
run the Swap Meet and to help raise money for our club.
Our
next Open House will be October 27th and 28th. Please
setup your trains the day before or that morning before 11am. Open House hours
are 12 noon to 5 pm.
