 Weaver Tank Cars Delivered to COL

 The Weaver Tank Cars are in, Please see Phil Gravenhorst to pickup your cars or to purchase cars (Member Price is $50 per car or $190 for the 4 car set). Cars will also be sold to the public ($55 per car or $210 for the 4 car set) at upcoming Open House, Swap Meets and via an ad in the TCA Order Board magazine.


Now Taking Orders for 2009 Lionel Club Cars

 At the last Business Meeting we decided on the COL 2009 Lionel Club Car. This years car will be 6-19575 Railway Express Agency Refrigerator Car, found on page 73 of the 2009 Lionel Catalog (volume 1). The COL price will be $50 (including COL decals) and should be paid by the November 13th Business Meeting to guarantee you a car. As always, we will only be ordering enough cars to fill the pre-paid orders, so if you want this car please order and pay for it now.


New Training Coordinator Appointed

 Phil Gravenhorst has appointed John Cerillo as the new Training Coordinator, to train new club members to operate the layout correctly . Congratulations John!


Club Holiday Party – December 5th

 The date for this years COL Holiday Party is Saturday, December 5th, starting at 6pm. As always, this is a family party, so bring your family. There will be plenty of food and a good time is guaranteed to be had by all.


Looking for Volunteers for Upcoming Projects

 We have some new (and existing) projects, for which we are looking for volunteers, as follows:

    -        Elevated Mainline (see Roger Herzog)

-        Modular Layout (see Mike Gulotta)

-        Re-wiring Grounds (see Scott Firestone)

-        Track Cleaning (see John Thompson)


Nomination of Officers and Elections

At the October Business Meeting the Nominating Committee submitted its slate of Officers and Directors, followed by nominations from the floor. Ballots will be mailed out this week and MUST BE Returned by 8pm at the December Business Meeting (on December 11th) where ballots will be counted and the winners announced. Please Note that ONLY members who are current in there dues (as per Al Schick’s records) will receive a ballot to vote (as per the COL Bylaws). If you are behind in dues you will not be getting a ballot (unless, of course, you pay up before 8pm on Dec. 11th).


Swap Meets & Open Houses

 - Our next Swap Meet will be Nov. 15th at the Farmingville Bingo Hall from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.

 - Our next Open House will be Oct. 24th & 25th at the club from 12 noon to 5 pm.

 Complete Open House and Swap Meet schedules can be found on the flyers (at the club) or on the COL website (address on the top of this newsletter).
