2068rf&p RF&P 50ft externally braced boxcar: An Athearn kit.
It is relatively new on the market. I really
like the lettering and the bright blue color. RF&P cars were
seen all over Chessie and the East End
in particular. Without having a Chessie video, I would have never
thought of buying this car. Research
pays off. I weathered it with a light overspray of black all
over. Then a heavy road grime overspray along
the bottom. I then used an erader on the sides to give the appearance
of grime settling in the groves near the
external braces. The roof just got an overspray of black to look
dull. I didn't rust the roof on this one.
Not all roofs are rusty, so leave some looking good.
