GTW 598287: An Athearn 50' boxcar which stared as a Rock
Island (Rock) decorated assembled model. I patched over the
Rock road number and logos in a GTW medium blue. The real car
was hastily painted in the photo I had of it. The Rock Island
went bankrupt in 1980 and their fleet was picked up by other
railroads, like the GTW. Many rode for several years in these
ex-Rock paint schemes.
