B&O All Time Chessie Roster B&O All-time Chessie Roster...
Below is an all time B&O Chessie Roster.  Any unit that existed from late 1972- late 1986 is listed below.  Some of these units were quickly retired by Chessie (ex. F7A, F7B) but they had a few glory days in the Chessie era.  All units are notated by road number they wore after the 1975 renumbering.  Any previous numbers the unit wore are listed in the notes.

I listed under the "Painted Chessie" column if I know one of the series was painted in Chessie colors.  This does not mean all were painted in Chessie.  It is best to find a photo of the exact locomotive you are interested in to determine what scheme it wore and when it got repainted.

The roster looks incredibly long, but that is due to the GP7s and GP9s that were all retired at different dates.  Some were also transferred from the C&O in the Chessie era, and they are so noted in the "notes" column.
