LAYOUT CONSTRUCTION
Below is an overall shot of the new layout under construction.  Photos on the left taken in July 2008.  Photos on the right taken in Dec 2008  You can see the entire new layout from this view.  It is approx. 14x10 feet folded dog bone style layout.  The near end on this photo is the industrial area.  Along the left (east) wall is the Kishwaukee River bridges.  In the left corner is the SY interlocking tower and BNSF interchange.  Along the back wall the primary yard starts and wraps around to the far right side of the layout.  The town of DeKalb is in the large area in the right (west) of this photo.

((No Dec 08 photo))

Below is a closer view of the industrial area of the layout.  This area is dominated by the climbing main line loop.  The industrial area is covered by supplies in this photo.  No track has been laid in that area to date.

Below is a shot of the middle of they layout.  There are two bridges over the Kishwaukee River in this area.  The large bridge on the higher portion of the main line has two freight cars on it.  The lower bridge is a double track bridge just in front of the large bridge.  Also visible is SY Tower in the corner.  The BNSF connection is behind it.

Below is a view of the DeKalb end of the layout.  The buildings are set up as they will be when scenery is complete.  There is a small truck yard closest to the camera.  The main yard is along the back wall.
