The Northbound Chase of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Blue Unit Circus Train 8/27/2012

by Chris Guenzler

We pulled into Califia Beach and Bill dropped me off while he parked and I walked to the usual photo location and he joined me a few minutes later.

Pacific Surfliner 774 heading towards San Diego was first by. A few minutes later the signal turned off from red and came back on Green. A few minutes the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Blue Unit Circus Train came into sight.

From here we took Interstate 5 to the Toll Road 261 to the CA 241 Toll Road paying $5.25 to get us to the Riverside Freeway and then we went to the Bridle trail that overlooks the Horseshoe Bend of the Santa Ana River. A few minutes later, here came the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Blue Unit Circus Train beneath us.

Winston then drove me home ending a great day of train photography. Special thank you to Bill Compton for his excellent driving and Carl Morrison for all of his help today.
