Beaumont Hill Trip 4/20/2013

by Chris Guenzler

Bill Compton picked me up at 6:10 AM and we drove out to Redlands and saw from Interstate 10, that the Nevada Street wig-wag on the former Santa Fe Redlands Branch was gone. We exited at Orange Street and went to the Santa Fe Redlands station.

A relief scuplture of oranges harkening back to when oranges were a major crop produced in the area shipped by rail, as well as "Santa Fe" on the building. From here we went over to San Timiteo Canyon where after the second crossing on the former Southern Pacific Railroad tracks, we spotted our first train of the day.
