I decided after my trip to San Matoe Point this morning that I should try to cover the Circus Train move to San Diego. This train is the red Unit with Union Pacific 4436, 4569 and 4415 for power with 59 Cars = 4 Stocks, 34 Coaches, 2 COFC, 19 Flats. (Total 252 axles less power). I took Metrolink 634 from Santa Ana to Irvine and then camped out on the bridge. I called several people but Tom Anderson from his office in Anaheim has a clear view of the tracks so he said he would call me once he saw it.
The first train I photographed was Pacific Surfliner 579 heading to LAUPT.
Next one was Metrolink 812.
It was followed by Metrolink 641.
The next train I photographed was Metrolink 609. Tom called and said it was leaving Anaheim.
Next we got a red over yellow for the siding sat Bake. We saw two headlights coming after Metrolink 806 left for San Bernardino. Once we saw the train starting to cross over we knew it was the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Red Unit Circus Train. Now enjoy the views I took.
There you have it the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Red Unit Circus Train went into the siding a Bake to wait for the Metrolink rush to be over before heading to San Diego. I had to now get home and I was surprised when my train came into Irvine.
Metrolink 689 had the lone Metrolink F -40PH 800 would take me home to Santa Ana. Tonight there is the OCRHS Meeting.
