A Trip to Califia Beach 1/4/2014

by Chris Guenzler

After hosting Let's Talk Trains with Canadian National dispatcher David Smetko as my guest, Jeff Hartmann picked me up and we drove down to Califia Beach at San Clemente State Beach. We parked just as the end of a BNSF auto train was on its way to San Diego then hiked down along the track to our first photo location.

Pacific Surfliner 777 for San Luis Obispo was the first train of the afternoon.

Metrolink 663 for Los Angeles came next.

Pacific Surfliner 774 for San Diego.

Pacific Surfliner 579 for Los Angeles.

Metrolink 858 for San Bernardino came through after that.

Metrolink 666 was our last train of the day, after which we started the walk back to Jeff's car.

One more shot along the way then we drove back to my house in Santa Ana.
