A Winter Visit to Cajon Pass 12/2/2017

Bill Compton picked me up at 5:30 AM and we drove first to West Colton Yard before going to Cajon Pass.







BNSF 3715 East at the Swarthout Canyon Road grade crossing. From here we drove to Summit to see how the new highway was coming along before we headed to Cozy Dell for some pictures.









BNSF 3869 West met BNSF 7823 East. We made our way to Hill 582 and set up for our picture-taking delight.

This train at Hill 582 was BNSF 6767 West with a baretable train. We then went to McDonald's where I had hot cakes and sausage then upon our return to the car, we heard a horn and drove to CP Canyon on the Union Pacific tracks to get another BNSF train on their railroad.









BNSF 7956 East at Highway 138. Having had our fill of trains, Bill and I returned Santa Ana, ending another excellent railfanning adventure.
