Depots Around Southern California

I grew up coming to the Santa Ana Santa Fe station which survivied until destroyed by fire after the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center was opened.

Other Orange County Stations



San Juan Capistrano Santa Fe station built in 1894. The next photos were on May 1, 2010.





Union Pacific Anaheim station built 1923.





Fullerton Pacific Electric Station built in 1917.





The former Fullerton Union Pacific Station built in 1923 the Old Spaghetti Factory.





The active Fullerton Station is the old Santa Fe Station built in 1930.





The Union Pacific La Habra Station Children Museum built in 1923.





The old Pacific Electric Station in La Habra which today is the La Habra Depot Playhouse Community Theater built in 1906.





The Irvine Amtrak Station opened on June 1, 1990.

10/17/2020 Bill Compton picked up Elizabeth and I as well as Greg Smith for a trip to take pictures of train stations in Southern California. Our first stop was in Pasadena.







The Santa Fe Pasadena station which was opened in 1935 and is now home to La Grande Orange Cafe. From here we headed east to San Dimas.







The Santa Fe San Dimas station, home of the Pacific Railroad Society. Next we went to Pomona.





The Santa Fe Pomona station now used by Metrolink. From here we went to Claremont.







The Santa Fe Claremont Station built in 1927 and is on the United States Register of Historic Places. Next we heard a horn of a westbound Metrolink train.







Metrolink 353 came into Claremont.





Metrolink 353 departed Claremont for Los Angeles. The next stop was because of something I had seen from a Metrolink train.





Upland Homeplace Spur which is home to Ad America. Their rail equipment came from the former Railroader Restaurant.

The Santa Fe Upland station built in 1937, home to Pacific Wine Merchants. Our next stop on this adventure was Rialto.









The Rialto Pacific Electric station from 1914 which has become Cuca's Mexican Restaurant and Cantina.





The PE Lightning Emblem on this station's north wall. From here we drove to San Bernardino.







The Santa Fe San Bernardino station built in 1918. Our next stop was Redlands and some of the construction of Redlands Passenger Rail Project {The Arrow}.

Redlands Station information. From here we went back to Colton.





Originally built by the Santa Fe and Union Pacific and now used by the BNSF. Bill drove us back to Santa Ana and I wrote this part of the story.

10/18/2020 Elizabeth and I gassed up my car and soon we were on are way to Corona.





Santa Fe Corona station built in 1937. We drove to Riverside.

Fontana Pacific Electric Station built in 1915 used today as the Art Depot.

The Etiwanda Pacific Electric station built in 1914. We then followed the Union Pacific and soon had to stop along Mission Blvd.

Southern Pacific Pomona Station built in 1940. Next we drove to Whittier.

Pacific Electric Bellflower station and small freighthouse, now a washroom, built in 1905. Next we went to our last stop in Yorba Linda.

10/19/2020 Elizabeth and I as well as Marty Smith rode Metrolink, the Gold Line to and Subway to North Hollywood with a few depots along the way.

Santa Fe Santa Fe Springs station is a replica station.
