UP 3985 at the NRHS Convention at St Louis in 2001 did a photo runby at Gorham,IL on June 20th,2001.
The second mainline steam trip of the convention had the Frisco 1522 running to West Quincy on June 22nd,2001 with a runby at Ilasco,MO.
The last trip of the 2001 Convention had the Frisco 1522 doing a runby in Newberg on June 23rd,2001

I rode the Colorado Rail Car DMU from Fullerton to Irvine and back as a special movement on June 27th,2003.
I took the rare mileage trip sponsored by the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum from Payette to Cascade,Idaho on August 8th,2003.
Metrolink ran its first Thanksgiving Day Orange County - Inland Empire Service on 11/27/03.
The Carrizo Gorge Railway ran a special to the Goat Creek Trestle from Jacumba on 12/6/03.
Metrolink ran a New Years Day Train on the Surf Line to get people to the Rose Parade via the Pasadena Gold Line. I used it to do an all rail connection to 761 the LAX to Santa Barbara weekend special Surfliner train service.
I was invited by the Christmastrain.org to write about the Three Kings Train from Campo to Tecate, Mexico where over 5000 gift bags were handed out to the children there on 1/14/04.
The day after Winterrail 2004, the Sierra Railroad ran a Railfan Trip from Oakdale to Cooperstown and return on 2/14/04.
I was invited for the last leg of the Sierra Coast Limited from Santa Barbara to the Amtrak Coach Yards in Los Angeles on 5/17/04.
The Southern Appalachia Railway Museum sponsored four rare mileage trips in 4 days in May of 2004. The first was the Eagle Cap Limited on the Wallowa Union Railroad on May 22nd, 2004. Here was a photo runby done in the pouring rain.
The following day we rode the Pend Orielle Valley Railroad from Newport,Washington to Metaline Falls then back to Ione. Here our train switching in Newport prior to leaving as the Pend Orielle Hiawatha on May 23rd,2004.
The next evening we were west of Lewistown,Montana where we boarded the Judith Basin Dinner Train for the rare mileage to Moccasin Jct on the Central Montana Rail on May 24th, 2004.
The final trip was on the rest of the Central Montana Rail as the Jawbone Express to Geraldine on May 25th,2004. Here our train is doing one of the photo runbys of the day.
Santa Fe 3751 made a special run out to the restored San Bernardino Station on June 12th,2004. Here the train is eastbound at El Monte.
The Milwaukee Road 261 pulled the Grand Excursion 2004 which I rode almost all of it. Here the train is leaving Union Station in Chicago to a lay over location after pulling me from Milwaukee to Chicago on June 22nd,2004.
The CP Rail 2816 and Milwaukee Road 261 pulled off a great double heading trip from St Paul to La Crescent and return on July 3rd,2004. What a chase this trip was including that fantastic rain storm.
I rode the four day trip behind the Canadian Pacific 2816 Minneapolis to Portal,North Dakota. Here is a beautiful train after completing the first day run at Glenwood,MN on July 6th,2004.

On Saturday April 2 I took the Technical Tour of the Alameda Corridor at the 2005 APTA Commuter Rail Conference.
Here is the Metrolink Train that took us down the Alamedia Corridor and was the first Metrolink train ever to San Pedro.

The Southern Appalachia Railway Museum ran three days of rare mileage trips on the Georgia
Southwestern Railroad. On the first day of the trip, we stopped and did a photo runby at MP 15.2
on their Ellaville Sub-Division on November 19th, 2005.
Fillmore Western ran the first passenger train to Piru, California on March 18th, 2006.

Spokane, Portland and Seattle 700 gave rides through Oaks Park in Portland, Oregon on June 10th, 2006.
The First NRHS 2006 Convention Trip was a trip from Dennison to the Gould Tunnel then up the Apex Line before returning to Dennison on the Ohio Central Railroad. At the Gould Tunnel we did a photo runby with our passenger train with RSD-12 7220 on July 18th, 2006.
Our photo freight then came out of the Gould Tunnel.
Our second NRHS 2006 Convention Trip was on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad on July 19th, 2006 and here is the first runby of the day.
After the above trip we were bussed over to the Minerva Steam Railroad Museum for a short three miles out and three miles back. Here is the train getting ready to depart Minerva on July 19th, 2006.
The third NRHS Convention 2006 Trip was the Cincinniti Limited over the Ohio Central from Dennison to Newark. We had Ohio Central 4-6-2 1293 from Morgan Run to Newark. Here is the photo runby at Trinway, Ohio on July 20th, 2006.
The final NRHS Convention 2006 Trip was the Buckeye Circle from Dennison to Morgan Run then onto Brewster to Bowerston and back to Dennision over both the Ohio Central and wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad. As a surprise we had the Ohio Central 4-6-2 1293 on the point of our train from Morgan Run to Sugar Creek. Here is the photo runby just right after the rains stopped on July 22nd, 2006.
