La Plata Railfan Guide Part 3

From the west bridge we headed west taking County Road UU then a right onto Road 321 then a right onto Road 310 then a left

Amtrak Southwest Chief running over 2 hours 39 minutes late due to crew issues after last night's late westbound Southwest Chief at County Road 275 MP 383.17.





Union Pacific {CSX 833} West at County Road 260 MP 382.66.





BNSF 4311 East at County Road 270 MP 382.66. I headed west to my last new photo location.





BNSF 6336 West at County Road 255 MP 384.63. From here go South to US 24 west into Carrollton.





BNSF 5012 East just east of Carrollton.





I was surprised to find Southern Caboose X348 in north Carrollton before I went to find the old Santa Fe station in town.





The former Santa Fe Station in Carrollton. We went east on US 24 looking for a train.





Norfolk Southern 6761 East just east of Dewitt. Head west on US 24 to MO Highway 10.





Norfolk Southern 8862 East at a road crossing just west of NA Jct.

BNSF 6504 west at Hardin from the Missouri highway 10 overpass. We continued east to a road crossing just west of NA Jct.





Norfolk Southern 2681 West just east of Norborne.

The Henrietta Santa Fe station. We were leaving Henrietta when I spotted something so we stopped.





Missouri City passenger station originally built by the Wabash is in Henrietta. Take Route H westbound





Union Pacific 7963 west on a Norfolk Southern Triple Crown train at 84th Street. Next take Route T westward.





Views of CA Jct so you get a feel for this unique place.

BNSF 6966 West at CA Jct. From here drive into Orrick.





Wabash Railroad caboose 2790 at Orrick. From here we drove over to CA Jct where I would be taking pictures for the first time as well. Take the road south go under the BNSF tracks then head west to the photo spot.





Amtrak's Southwest Chief train 4 crossed the Santa Fe Railroad Missouri River Bridge just east of Sibley.

Go back to Route T then Mo Highway 210 to Mo Highway 291 south to US 24 East to Buckner then left on North Buckner Tarsney Road then right on Chicago Road right on California Avenue then left on East Johnson Road We pulled up to the photo location just as a westbound BNSF started crossing the impressive bridge here.





The old Santa Fe Railroad Bridge at Sibley which has cameras so stay off the tracks. The second span in the middle is where I passed my One Millionth Rail Mile back on April 27th, 2007. We ate our lunch here.
