A Trip to Placentia and Fullerton 10/21/2017

by Chris Guenzler

I had called Bill Compton about going out to do some railroad photogragphy on Saturday 10/21/2017. We had planned to go out at 6:00 AM but after I went to my doctor and she needed blood work ASAP so I got a 10:15 AM appointment and did that, I told Bill to meet me at 11:00 AM and we would go out locally. We drove north to Placentia and our first stop of the day, the pedestrian bridge over the BNSF mainline there.

BNSF 9150 West at Placentia.

BNSF 7484 West at Placentia. From here Bill and I drove surface streets to the Fullerton train station. We went up onto the pedestrian bridge just as a westbound BNSF train was going by.

The tail end of that train at Fullerton.

BNSF 4024 East came through next.

Metrolink 663 heads for Los Angeles.

BNSF 5781 East was our next BNSF freight.

Pacific Surfliner 573 was next through Fullerton.

Pacific Surfliner 774 stopping in Fullerton.

BNSF 7398 West came through Fullerton while Pacific Surfliner 774 was doing it's station work.

Pacific Surfliner 774 then left Fullerton. Bill returned me home to Santa Ana thus ending another railfan adventure.
