Conrail 21 - Geometry Car

Pullman Standard built this as a Business Car for the Santa Fe in 1924.  It carried No. 32 and then No. 55, serving Santa Fe for almost 60 years before Conrail acquired it in October, 1983.  Amtrak rebuilt this Business Car at its Beech Grove, Indiana Shops into Track Geometry Car No. 21 for Conrail.  The car entered service in late 1983. Norfolk Southern has taken ownership of the car and calls it 'Research 36'.  It can be seen as late as 2005 on the rails in full Norfolk Southern paint.  Remember to ask for my permission if you intend to use these pictures elsewhere.
