Conrail 4021 E8A

Built in 1952 for the Pennsylvania Railroad in LaGrange, IL and numbered 5711 and 4311. The unit eventually became Penn Central 4311.  In 1974 Amtrak acquired the unit and numbered it 317 and then 499. Amtrak upgraded the E8A with new Head End Power (HEP).  Conrail purchased the E unit in 1984 and numbered it 4021.  CSXT acquired the engine and stored it in full Conrail OCS paint/number with sister Conrail 4022 until it was auctioned off to Bennett Levin of the Juniata Terminal who restored the unit to PRR paint.
