Conrail 4022 E8A

Built in 1951 for the Erie Railroad. In 1960, the unit became Erie Lackawanna 833 and in 1976, the unit became Conrail 4022 where it served as the original Conrail Office Car locomotive.  In 1999, CSXT acquired this engine through the merge, who in turn sold it to the Juniata Terminal Railway in Philadelphia, PA where the unit currently resides in all its glory retaining CR OCS paint. The unit has a top speed of 90mph (with train), 2,250 horsepower, and a 1,200 fuel capacity.  Conrail overhauled this engine in Juniata, PA in 1979. Enjoy some of these pictures I have taken of the 4022. In keeping with my detail and interior oriented photography, you will be able to see some up close views of this beautiful engine. Hopefully these pictures will help tell the story of Conrail 4022 during it's reign as king in the Conrail years.
