Conrail 8 - Executive Sleeper

Built in 1917 for the Southern Pacific as sleeping car 'Penvir'.  Rebuilt in 1932 into a 10-section Lounge Car.  Eventually went to the Erie Railroad and then in 1953 to the Southern Railway.  Southern Railway made the car a coach car. Conrail converted the car into an 8 bedroom sleeping car in 1984.  This car was used for transporting the executives that were not assigned to an Office Car Bedroom.  CSX is currently using the car as CSX 994008 'Mississippi' and is in full CSX paint.  Remember to ask for my permission if you intend to use these pictures or diagrams elsewhere.
