Message: Thanks for the great CP pics. I am a CP/SOO hogger out of the Twin Cities. It's good to see the SD90's are still racking up some good miles up in Canada. We don't get them down here anymore due to strict emissions regulations in the States, but, I really miss the 9100's (and 9300's, whenever I could get my hands on one) down here, they're really good loco's. Talk to you again soon....

Nice work Chris! It is great you are keeping a historical log of the railways in your area. Although none of the lines in your area appear to be endangered, the only thing we know for sure is that all that new power won't be new forever and is bound to be retired one day. Wonder what will come next after the AC4400's and the SD90's........

Nice Pixs.I used to be an Operator on the White River Sub. for CPRAIL at Franz, between White River and Chapleau Ont. Mile 81.4. Junction with Algoma Central Railway, which runs S00 to Hearst, Ont. Keep up the good work. If I can contribute anything to your efforts, let me know. I worked for the Railway from 1967 to 1992. Couldn"t get enough of it when I was a young lad. Started when I was 17 yrs old, never looked back. You seem like the ideal candidate for a railway job in the future. You have a good eye for the Railway Pix. It sure brought back a few good memories from my Railway Days. Keep up the good work!

Chris -

Excellent photography. I don't think you know me but I formerly owned the shop that you took the photo of the week at - Marathon One Hour Photo & also worked the rails at night as a trainman / conductor / engineman for 12 years.

Your use of shutter speeds are totally correct, aperature settings appear to be perfect and composition is improving.

If I may, I would suggest the following locations / times which I've always wanted to get to - but was always too damn busy:

Mileage - 76? Heron Bay Sub - Park at Coldwell and walk east: carefully. Trains are in dynamic at this point and don't make any noise. Walk east through the mink tunnel to get the shot of an eastbound coming through the mink. call the yard office in Schreiber FIRST to get a "lineup" of trains going both east and west. Safety is very important here - there is no place to step out of the way there. If John Rose is still in Marathon, call him and ask him to take you there. Tell him I sent you.
