Published Work

Since late 2002 I have been using Fuji Film digital. Over the past few years I have been fortunate enough to have a few of my photographs published. Three have been published on paper, while a few others have been used for photos of the weeks on some websites. Hopefully soon I can upgrade more to a 300dpi resolution and try for some railway magazines.

My first published photograph was in a employee magazine. Entre Nous is ran by Tembec, one of Canada's largest forest product companies.  At the time of my submission I was lost for words, as a description but you get the idea.

The article was published in a spring 2004 issue of the quarterly magazine.

In May 2005, the saltie the MV Menominee (Norway) would make its last scheduled berth at Marathon Pulp to load kraft pulp for Spain. The cost of shipping was to high for profit, and this would be stopped. Marathon was a unique town, with one of the few mills built on the shores with access to the world via water. For years ships would call to Marathon to load with pulp. My brother suggested I should submit this photograph to the local weekly newspaper, The Marathon Mercury. I gave it a shot and it made it.

This was published in early June 2005.

During October/November 2006 I was emailed by a company, NAVIS www.navis.com asking permission to use one of my photographs for  their website. I granted them permission asking for a shirt in return. A few days later I received a parcel with a royalty cheque, and some other swag.

Here is the photograph that was used, CP train #102 at MP 62

The locomotive was used in a circle on a brochure.

Thanks to Scott from Navis!
