Industries

White River: Domtar Forest Products sawmill (centerbeams and bulkhead flats)

                   Calgas (LPG tankcars)

                   MOW (shops & storage)

Marathon: Marathon Pulp Inc (Tembec/Krugar owned) (boxcars, woodchip cars, chemical, gondola's for scrap metal)

Jackfish: Small spur leading off from the mainline, often holds forest products equipment for loading logs onto flatcars or cutting logs up into boards and loading woodchip gondola's

Terrace Bay: Kimberly Clark / Neenah Woodpulp (boxcars, chemicle)

Schrieber: Shell Canada bulkplant

                 MOW

Previously: Enmet Mining ore loader, Esso bulkplant

It is now taken out, at Struthers there was a branch leading up to Manitouwadge, Ontario to serve the mining, forest products, and chemicle industries. With the mines closing and the forests being cut further away from the tracks this line had little use and was taken out in the late 90's. There was also a connection to the CNR to Hillsport, ON.

Keefer Terminal/K yard/IMS ramp:
At Keefer Terminal, biggest customers are Bowater and Arnone Transport.  There are approximately 10 to 12 sheds/doors (K34 thru K75) to spot at the big warehouse and a platform (K66) for transloading/shipping of Bowater Lumber.

Pig ramp....... 2 tracks, KIMS 1 and KIMS 2 for Thunder Bay IMS service.

Downtown/E yard area:
Bole's Feed, track EY1     1 car spot for grain (Hardisty Street)
There's also track E29A.... the fuel ramp next to the diesel shops where we spot 3 tanks of fuel oil/diesel for T.Bay Mechanical services to off-load.

TBTL - Thunder Bay Terminals Limited:
CP coal and potash trains go here to unload their cargo as do CN coal trains.  2 tracks, an outer/outward coal loop and and inner/inward potash loop.

Q yard/Island industries:
Nearby at "QILD" (Q yard, Island lead) is the spot for LaFarge Cement.... we frequently place those short CRDX hoppers there for those guys to transload.

Petro Canada:
3 tracks.... QX10 (5 car spot/unload for unleaded gas), QX11 (5 car spot/unload for diesel fuel) and QX12 (10 car storage track).  Empties can either be CN or CP, CP goes to Winnipeg and CN to the transfer in Westfort.

Lakehead Scrap Metals (LHS):
Known to us CP yardmen as "the car basher", track ID QX9... can spot anywhere from 1 to 5 gons for loadout of scrap, usually destined to Regina, SK.

Lakeland Feeds, track QX7:
Located off the north track around mile 1.7 Kam Sub, we spot hoppers there on the rare occasion, usually 2 or 3 cars.

Westfort yard:
Really, the only "industry" is Western Grain (Pool 10) elevator with 3 tracks for spotting grain.

CN Mission area:
Since the Spring of 2003, CP has been exercising their "Joint Access Agreement" with respect to the elevators, and CP goes down the CN Mission Spur to service the Mission Terminal [Pool 15] (5 tracks) and Cargill [Pool 14] grain elevators (6 tracks).

Finally and the extreme west/south end of the CP terminal in town is......
Bowater:
Where to start?  A whole whack of tracks and little industries within the largest pulp & paper mill in Canada....... 9 doors at the paper sheds (P83 thru 91), one track for a 6-car spot on the kraft side (P51), a 5-car spot for the waferboard/recycling plant (P48), a one car spot for the turpentine and tall oil spot (P93), spots at the chemical plant (P27 and P28) as well as Erco WorldWide right behind P28 (inside a shed).

Nearby is Bombardier where we haven't been to in probably close to a year account no contracts/no cars to pull/spot.  And.....

Dow Chemical:
One track, 12-car spot, 8 behind the house/shed and 4 inside for unloading.

Dynea Chemical (old Neste Resins):
Located along Montreal Street....... 2 tracks behind the gate and 5 different spots for a variety of nasty stuff such as formaldehye, urea, phenol, and methanol.

Thanks to Craig Konopski for helping with this list.

Scanner Frequincies are the same as the Nipigon and Kaminstiqua subdivisions.
