CT COMMUTER RAIL COUNCIL HAILS METRO-NORTH

FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY RESULTS

(February 13, 2002):    Metro-North today released the results of their latest Customer Satisfaction Survey conducted in December 2001.

“The latest Customer Satisfaction Survey of Metro-North riders shows improvements in all areas of measurement,” says CT Commuter Rail Council Chairman Rodney Chabot of New Canaan.  “The railroad should be congratulated for their hard work. Still, the survey and my own experience shows room for further improvements in such areas as restroom facilities on the train and at Grand Central.”

Vice Chairman Jim Cameron of Darien added:  “The CT Commuter Council has been working with Metro-North and Conn. Dept. of Transportation over the years to improve commuters’ experience on the trains.  Many of the issues we’ve identified in the past… dirty rail cars, lack of seats on the trains, etc…. have shown improvement in this latest survey, and Metro-North and its staff should be applauded for their efforts.”

Results of the survey will be discussed in greater detail at the CT Commuter Rail Council’s meeting tonight in Stamford.

The next meeting of the Council will be Wed. February 13, 2002, 7:30pm at the offices of SACIA, One Landmark Sq., Stamford.  For further information e-mail the Council at trains@camcomm.com , call 203-655-0138, or visit our website at www.trainweb.org/ct
