All three remaining wigwags in McMinnville have been removed, replaced
by crossing gates. All were retired in July, 2001.

Here's the third signal. This wigwag was located at 5th St. Notice how all three are mounted on high concrete foundations. This is not common practice for SP. The wigwag in Amity was set up the same way.

John Mosbarger also sends in this image of freshly painted Willamette & Pacific GP39-2 2314 (former ATSF) passing the old 3rd Street wigwag that was removed a few years ago. This was the locomotive's first run in it's new paint job.
