"Here’s some information on the Magnetic Flagman at the Oregon
Zoo in Portland, OR:
The banner has been replaced. It was beautifully restored.
The wigwag is hooked up to the track
circuitry in the Washington Park Zoo Railway and is activated
by passing trains.
The gong is near perfectly tuned. One direction needs
the hammer pulled back slightly.
The damper, if it still exists, is not operating. The
banner takes several swings before coming to a stop."
