Just into those trees is the end of the Wye for the Doniphan Branch. "Snow on Current River" by Elvin Klepzig
Elvin Klepzig,
I am Rosemary Koch at De Soto,Mo. and associated with the memorial that we are building to honor the 3 railroads and their employees.As we are in the process of making a park so the city will then take care of the insurance and maintenance of the memorial. You can go to this web page and click on photos and then click on events and you will see our red caboose (MP 13319). Union Pacific refurbished it for us. Mr. Ed Hawkins told us it was built in Feb. 1948 at the De Soto car shops. We are going to have the dedication at 2p.m. on June 6, 2008 of the Memorial. The shops are going to have rail days from 9 a.m. until, and the De Soto Spring Festival.
We invite any and everyone to come and see our beautiful memorial and enjoy the exciting day with us.

Things to consider....
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things;
the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling
which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight;
nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety;
is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free,
unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
John Stuart Mill
"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy"
James Madison, 4th U.S. President.
Makes me think of the "Patriot Act"! - Elvin

It's about the moments that take your breath away!"
