Museum Depot Open Day

Many of you will know that London's Transport Museum has a Depot at Acton Town.

This is used predominantly for storage and the renovation of exhibits and is not generally open to the public.

However, it does open three times a year (and tours are also arranged - visit the Museum's own website for details) and the following are posted to give a feel for the atmosphere and a selection of the exhibits on view. These are just a small cross section of what's to be seen.

The first of 2004's Open Days at the Museum Depot took place on the weekend of the 5th and 6th March. The theme was very much around railway modelling.  There were some excellent displays on view; hours of work goes into such projects, but results are quite fascinating.

The following small gallery are a few pictures I managed to grab of just one of the layouts. The results really do not do the display justice!
