L. & P. S. TRAIN COLLIDES WITH CAR CARRIER
(November 7, 1956)
[L&PS 2]
[L&PS 2]
Only five people suffered injuries when a two-car southbound L.&.P. S. train was in collision with a loaded car carrier at the level crossing near Stop 4 (Concession 3, Westminster Township). The train was already on the crossing when it was hit by the truck. Most seriously injured was the truck driver who suffered a head injury and multiple cuts. The westbound car carrier was transporting four brand new 1957 automobiles at the time of the accident. Car 2 was scrapped in 1958 as a result of this accident. The identity of the second car on the train, which appears to have suffered little damage, is unknown.
