HELP PRESERVE AN MRS1

The EMD MRS1 was built for the Army for use overseas during wartime. Only 13 were built. #1818 served in Europe as a demonstrator as well as military duties and can be considered as the forerunner of the G-series of export units. This unit is now proposed to be saved in Alaska. If you are interested in helping with this project or learning more about it,CLICK HERE!

Hi and welcome to the unofficial EMD homepage. The purpose of this space is to catalog the locomotives built by EMD. As you can imagine, this is a monumental task. Any assistance in identifying various phases of locomotives, of info about serial and order numbers would be greatly appreciated. You can email me at protowatchdog@mail.com

All links are in red. On any page clicking on the EMD logo will return you here. Clicking on the railroad herald will take you to a roster of EMDs built new for that railroad, where available. Not all railroad rosters are posted yet. Clicking on a red unit number will take you to a photo of that unit.

Thanks and enjoy.
