ANNOUNCEMENT

This site is now in limited maintenance mode. Changes are being made only infrequently and are not undertaken on a planned basis. There have been few changes recently apart from the establishment of a new section to store Google Earth KMZ files. Activity based around these files is the only real source of any expected updates in the future.

Railways of New Zealand is my longest-established railways site, dating from 1999. It spawned a number of other sites, including official sites for the Canterbury Railway Society and Diesel Traction Group, a site about the "Historic Rail Vehicle Trust"s ex-Royal carriage, the NZRailways group archive site, Railways of Ferrymead, New Zealand Rail Heritage and New Zealand Diesel and Electric Traction. Some of these sites have closed or transferred to new ownership or locations and the rest are in archive mode.

I expect this site to stay up in its current form indefinely but new galleries of photos will be placed in my Picasa Web Albums and written articles will appear on my railway blogs. See above for the links to these.
