The Springburn railway yard was located a short distance from the school and the main part of the township. It was a terminal station and as such probably included an engine shed and turning facilities. The section from Mount Somers to Springburn was closed in 1957, 10 years before the closure of the remaining line. In this view of the yard alongside the main road, pieces of concrete are visible.
