Asmara

Photo courtesy of Mebrat Tzehaie and Hans van der Splinter

This picture of Asmara shows the railway in the forground.  I know I have one or two with the railway in the background.  I will post these in the near future. Any pictures of the railway are welcome.

This is a fragment of a picture I took in 1961.  It shows the railway running from the lower left hand corner into the trees at the center then off to the right.

The city of Asmara is filled with beautiful Art Deco buildings.  That is what Asmara Style is all about.

The city's buildings contrast with the railway buildings.

Within Asmara, the places of interest for the Railfan would be the Asmara Station, the Railway Shops and the industrial users such as Melotti Brewery and Kagnew Station.
