Currently there are about 15 active members of the Elkhart Model Railroaders club. The members share a wide range of skills. Track and scenery work are always needed on the pike. Members enjoy working on the pike, but most of all they enjoy running their trains.
Other activities include local and regional rail fanning, attending train shows, and checking out the latest available merchandise at the local hobby shop.
Many of our members purchase their model railroad items from John Hall's True Value Hardware Store. Located in Goshen, Indiana. Jeff Hall carries the best selection around. Hundreds of cars, locomotives, structures, and more. In a hardware store? Yes!
Historically, Elkhart is a 'Railroad' town and the Chicago Mainline runs right through it! On a quiet night, at the club, you might even hear the boys classifying rail cars in the hump yard at the Norfolk Southern Yard.
The club meets Friday evenings at 7:00 pm
