CPRS Paint List
CPRS

The CPRS Paint List is dedicated to compiling a complete list of all CP/SOO/D&H units painted in the "CP Rail System" paint scheme(s). Only certain types of units on the CPRS roster were ever intended to receive the full "Dual-Flag" scheme. Yard units only got the new red and CP Rail System lettering but without the "Dual-Flag" logo. Any red/underlined units listed have photo links.

What is a "wrong U.S. Flag" ??
The CPRS "Dual-Flag" logo as applied to locomotives is actually a series
of four decals. There are two U.S. and two Canadian 'half-flags'. The
left side of the unit is a mirror image of the right side, and both are
supposed to 'flow' upwards toward the front of the unit, with the Canadian
Flag forward. Where I have denoted "wrong U.S.Flag", it means that the
unit has the US 'half flag' that should properly be on the opposite side
of the unit. This gives the appearance of a "V" instead flag blowing
in the wind.

"The Gap":
On 04Jul97, CP changed it's corporate name to "CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY",
and units painted between then and the unveiling of the new "Beaver" logo
on 14Sep97 were painted similarly to CP Rail System painted units, except
that no units received the "Dual-Flag" logo, or the word "System" on the
hood. Units known to have been painted during this period include:
760 1126 1127 1128 1429

1525* 1527 1538 1539 1548 1565 1575 1586 1589
(1525 done in 1993, the first GP9u done, no "System" for reasons unknown)

1593 1627(?) 1635 1637

4600 4611 4617 5405 5546 5570 5751

8200 8201 8204 8209 8213 8215(?) 8217(?) 8220
