I've just made a quick modification to the page for NS 2121 to correct some of the data that was duplicated when I used the page from NS 2120 as a basis. Also, I have photos of the 2121 now, albeit before it was painted. I've also added updated demonstration info to the pages for NREX 2020, 2009 and BMEX 259.

Following the RSI Exhibition there is a good deal of new information to add. First off, Progress formalized their genset offerings with PR22B PRLX 2008. Joe Ferguson passed along that there were a number of gensets in progress at Mayfield as well, and we have all the data on those on the Progress page. NRE unveiled the first of its single engine 1GS7B switcher rebuilds, Bunge 8002. I also have several more photos of new 3GS21B-DE NREX 2020. That unit has been leased to the Belt Railway of Chicago for demonstration. Also, Railpower announced that Union Pacific had purchased two additional RP20CD's. I don't have number information yet on those units, but am working on it. I also have added previous unit info for PHL 81 and builder's data for BNSF 1211. And finally, NRE Paducah released two more 3GS21B's for CSX, CSXT 1302 and 1303, a few days ago. Also, look for more changes in the BNSF 3GS21B roster, as I am adding some pages and photos that I am currently missing.

There is quite a bit of new information added to the site to keep pace with recent developments. First, Pacific Harbor Line has added another 3GS21C to its roster. PHL 81 was spotted in transit to Long Beach in August. Not long after, BNSF 1211 emerged from CAD Rail in Lachine, Quebec as a Railpower RP14BD genset. This is the first of four genset units to be converted from Gen. I GG20B green goat hybrids for BNSF. A few days ago, a new NRE 3GS21B demonstrator was spotted. NREX 2020 was at UP's Dolton, IL yard along with Bunge 8002, the first single engine 1GS7B built by NRE. Both are likely headed to the RMA convention later on this month, as is PRLX 2008, a new genset from Progress that was spotted shrink-wrapped in KY late last month. And, as if that wasn't enough, we also have a great assortment of photos of RPRX 5407 and MPEX 244 demonstrating in Calgary, AB last month. Enjoy!

Introducing BNSF 1292, the latest release from NRE's former VMV factory in Paducah, KY. I have photos of this unit courtesy of Mark R, along with additional photos of CSXT 1301, and pics of BNSF 1286 (ex-NREX 2013) by Ryan Kertis. Also we have a photo and sighting of Brookville's genset prototype, BMEX 259 in Sinnemehoning, PA (say that ten times fast!). NOTE: Because of space constraints again, some files are temporarily unavailable. Sorry. I'm looking at spreading assetts around a bit to help relieve that and hopefully will have solution later this evening.

I've added photos and build data to the pages for CSXT 1300 and 1301, both of which have now left NRE's Paducah facility for assignments in the Detroit area. Also, the printable version of the rosters has been taken down again due to space constraints.

Pacific Harbor Lines' 33, 34 and 80 are on the move to California. Note that the second unit is number 34, not 32. Much to my surprise. I've added new photos of the units, and the first few of the new BNSF units, 1268, 1269, 1270, 1271, 1272, 1273, 1286 (which is ex-NREX 2013), 1287 and 1291. Enjoy!

What a great day today! Railpower's first RP20CD six axle genset, UPY 896, has been released and is on the move through Ontario today. Bob Heathorn was kind enough to supply us with the first photos of these new units!

In addition, I'm pleased to offer the first photos of MotivePower's MP21B genset prototype, MPEX 244. Enjoy.

We have new photos to add for the PHL 80 and 33, and updates to the pages for PHL 32, USAX 6500 and 6501. I've also added data the 3GS21B page for the new BNSF order, 1268-1292, to get ready for the addition of new pages. Finally, I've added a page for the new, as-yet unnumbered NS 3GS21C.

Thanks to Ken Lanovich for the builder's plate info on NRE deomonstrator NREX 2013, which is destned to become BNSF 1286. The unit's roster page has been updated.

Two major things have happened with this update. First, MotivePower's new MP21B demonstrator MPEX 244 has made an appearance in Boise. While I am still waiting for photos, I have added all the information I have to its new roster page. Also, I have added a roster page for the test bed unit that was briefly a genset in Boise.

The next big update I have made is the addition of an invisible hit counter to the front page so I can measure traffic onto the site. What this will mean to users who are questioning cookies is that one will suddenly appear where there hasn't been one before. Please be assured that this is not a malicious cookie, and is being used to help me gauge site traffic in anticipation of some coming changes. Thanks.

More new photos. This round adds pics of BNSF 1223, 1232, 1266 and 1267, as well as NREX demo 2013 in all its primer glory. There's plenty more to come, as NRE is delivering the next round of BNSF units. I have photos of 1268 and 1273 already, and sightings up as high as 1290. Look for that on a day that I'm not supposed to be taking my sweetie out.

I've updated the page for FWWR 2014, as it is apparent that the core unit, FWWR 1500, still exists and couldn't have been used. I've also added some photos of the 2013 and 2014.

I've added a roster page and information for new NREX demonstrator 2013. This one may be another temporary like the 2011, which later became BNSF 1240.

With the UPY roster pages completely up to date, I have turned my attention to generating pages for BNSF's fleet of 3GS21Bs. So far, I have created or updated the pages for BNSF 1220-1250. Start from the 3GS21B model page. There is still some info to be updated on that page, but all the links for those units now work.

I've updated the missing data on the remaining 40 UPY 3GS21B pages. In addition, I've added a photo of DGNO 140 to its page, and updated the data for the 140 and 141. I also added a couple of photos of UPY 2005 working with Railpower Green Goat RPRX 2401.

Data on the next 10 UPY 3GS21B pages has been updated, so I can say for sure that the UPY 2701-2720 are as accurate as my notes will allow. Also, I've added a painted photo and build data for USAX 6501, and another photo of PHL 80, both courtesy of Mark Mautner. Enjoy!

I've added pages for Union Pacific's first two RP20CD six axle Railpower gensets, UPY 896 and 897, which are taking shape in CAD right now. There's also updated photos and a new page for RPRX 5407, a new RP20BD that was originally listed as RPRX 1700 on the green goat site, but was only a stripped frame. I've also made several updates to the pages for UPY 2701-2710, and am working on correcting some errors in the other pages for the units in that series. Start from the 3GS21B roster page. And finally, I've created an RP20CD roster page since the units are on their way.

Happy New Year! I've finished out the UPY NRE 3GS21B roster pages, and updated the main roster for that model. By golly, I'm almost caught up! There are also a few new photos of PHL 80 and USAX 6500, and added a new roster page (with photo) of PHL 33.

PHL 80, the first NRE 3GS21C locomotive, is under construction at NRE's Mt. Vernon, IL facility. We have photos now, so I have created a roster page for the model, plus an individual page for the 80. I've also added a new page for PHL 32, which will be out next year, and added a photo of USAX 6501 to its page. The final photo update for this round is photos of UPY 2756 courtesy of Ian Grey.

I've made a dramatic reduction in the file size of the printable genset rosters (thanks Apple) and dropped the finished product from 2.9 megs to 916 kb. Not bad, eh? Also, there are new roster pages for CSX 3GS21B's 1300 and 1301, which are taking shape at VMV Paducah. Enjoy.

I've started working up roster pages for the BNSF fleet of NRE 3GS21B's. Start from the 3GS21B roster page as a jumping point. Today's update adds pages for the BNSF 1227, 1235, 1236, 1249 and 1253, and updates the pages for the 1220 and 1221. I know it seems random, but I am adding pages acording to what units I have the most new photos/info for. So there is a method to my madness.... Also, I have added photos of UPY 2616, which I didn't have before.

I snuck in an extra photo of UPY 2669 to its roster page. I've also added a couple of photos of UPY 2660. By golly, I'm getting caught up a little at a time...

The histories and new pages are up for all of the Railpower RP20BD's now. All of the RPRX 54xx series units have been updated, there are some new photos for NS 101, updates to the UPY 2620-2650 pages and new pages for UPY 2651-2669. The folks at Trainweb have relieved my storage problem again, so I have uploaded a number of missing pages, photos and files, and gotten things back up and running.

OK, so I did a little reality check, and boy what a load I've taken off my shoulders. See, I've been working up photos like MAD for the last several months, with very little to show in the way of finished roster pages. In the mean time, Railpower and NRE have been throwing them out the door like wildfire. The result? I'm absolutely buried. So rather than waiting for individual unit roster pages to be completed, I've begun linking photos directly from the main RP20BD and 3GS21B roster pages. So if I don't get the roster pages completed just yet, you'll at least have some pretty pictures to enjoy. So go enjoy them!

There's such a backlog of work on this site right now, it's not even funny. So I am whittling away at it a little bit at a time. Today's installment includes new pages for NS 300 and 301, and NREX 2009. There's also a bunch of new photos throughout, and updated information for NREX 2007 and 2008. Plenty more to come.

I have updated the history of NREX 2007, which has been debated, but I believe has been solved thanks to a frame number check by Mark Gillings.

I corrected an erroneous reference to Brookville's CoGen prototype as BLMX 259. It is actually BMEX 259. I don't know where I got the idea that it was BLMX, but I actually had to do several new graphics to correct that before I released the page initially. Unfortuately, I missed a text reference... Thanks to the eyes over at Brookville for pointing that out. I think these guys are really excited about and proud of their new locomotive.

I have a ton of updates to make - over 200 photos that I have worked up and need to place, and nearly 100 new pages that I need to create. The first of those comes with this update: new photos of NS 100 and 101, RPRX 5400, and UPY 2644. I have also created a new page for UPY 2645. There's plenty more to come.

As the first part of a moderate restructuring, I have shaken up the front menu again, and created a bunch of new files, including several information files for the different manufacturers, and roster directories for Railpower and NRE. Also, I have released a new roster page for the Brookville CoGen demonstrator, BMEX 259, which was unveiled last month. Many thanks to the folks at Brookville for their assistance in getting the information together for that. The space issue has been solved (long ago, but my time issue hasn't been...) and I have uploaded a number of new photos to the site, along with the remaining photos that were bumped out of the last update. I've added photos and pages for several locomotives, including long overdue updates for NS 101, and photos for UPY 2687, 2688, 2689, and 2690. I also have cleared a space for an update to UPY 2645-2657, but will not be making those updates until tomorrow. You may notice some dead links on the RP20BD roster page in the mean time. UPDATE: Unfortunately, we have hit a space barricade again, so I am unable to complete today's upload, and will be missing tomorrow's upload. Also, the print version of the Genset Rosters has been taken down for the time being. Sorry for the inconvenience. We should have the problem resolved in a few days.

Before even entering service, Fort Worth and Western 2GS14B's 1400 and 1401 have been renumbered to 2013 and 2014 respectively. So I have updated the roster pages for each unit, the 2GS14B main roster page, and lots of graphics.

I've added a couple more photos to the roster pages for DGNO 140 and 141 and FWWR 1400. There are also new phots and/or roster pages for the following units: UPY 2722, 2732, 2733, 2734, 2735, 2736, 2737, 2740, 2741, 2752 and 2753. The final components of the site have fallen into place, and I am pleased to present the Genset Rosters for its official launch. Hooray! There are still some broken links that I need to tie up, and some other loose ends, but for the most part the site is now live. I have also updated the 2GS14B roster page, and added individual unit pages for DGNO 140 and 141 and FWWR 1400 and 1401. Enjoy.

As we creep closer to an "official" launch, I have begun adding individual pages for NRE's 3GS21B's. Check the 3GS21B roster page for links. There are a few pages yet to be added, so don't fret if some of the links don't work the first time you try them. Odds are they'll be up in the next day or two if they aren't already.

Confirmed and corrected the donor unit history for NREX demonstrator 2007, and added a photo of demonstrator 2008. Also, Fort Worth and Western's new 2GS14B's FWWR 1400 and 1401 are just about complete, and have been added to the 2GS14B roster. 1400 was actually in transit in Arkansas today, while the 1401 was inside the paint booth at NRE Mt. Vernon.

Canada Allied Diesel (CAD) in Lachine, QB recently released the first four of 15 units it will be producing for the Union Pacific order. UPY 2685, 2686, 2687 and 2688 are on the road for Chicago now. Bob Heathorn sent us photos of the 2685 and 2686 in Smiths Falls today, which I have added. I've also updated the RP20BD roster page to match.

Many thanks to Ken Larson for providing some build data off of NREX 2007. The info may have led to the donor unit for it, which I have added, though it isn't confirmed. There's also an extra picture, and one of the UPY 2005. Thanks!

Though I have more updates coming, I have added a downloadable print version of the Genset Rosters in PDF form, which you can download here. Adobe Acrobat or a similar PDF reader is required. And with the recent announcement of six axle RP20CD and RP27CD models by Railpower, I expect that my rework of the menu is already obsolete, so I will have to figure out how to make that work, and change it again. More on that later.

Leave it to Railpower to throw my whole carefully laid plan into disarray. That's precisely what they did with the announcement yesterday that they were going to be building a new two engine genset model, designated the RP14BD, for Norfolk Southern. Read about it in the press release here. In response, I have combined the unbuilt NRE 3GS21C and Brookville Locomotive genset line into one page, heretofore to be called Other Genset Units. And I've created a roster page for the RP14BD.

I didn't like the colors on the main menu, so I completely overhauled the front page graphics, and came up with something I liked a little better. Enjoy.

I have finally gotten the RP20BD's caught up, beginning with all of the UPY units, and finishing with several photos added to the Railpower units. Mostly photos added, but there is some other data as well. I won't bother reprinting all 45 pages here, so I'll recommend using the RP20BD roster page as a starting point.

I have added roster pages for several NRE locomotives, including: BNSF 1220 & 1221, UPY 2005, and NREX 2007 and 2008. I've also added links on the 2GS14B and 3GS21B roster pages. Plenty more to come. Stay tuned.

All of the UPY RP20BD's that I have made roster pages for so far are now uploaded to the site, so the links from the RP20BD roster page now function. I have lots of photos still to add, along with building roster pages for UPY 2633 to 2644. But it's coming along. I've also gotten some of the page banners updated for the UPY locomotives. Also, the graphics work for the NRE locomotives is all completed, so I am going to be building pages and uploading them here pretty quickly as well. Enjoy!

Though the site isn’t officially “live” yet, I am keeping track of changes anyhow. Today I have added a roster page for Norfolk Southern 100, as well as several photos of RPRX 5403, 5404, 5405 and 5406. I also updated the roster page for the NRE 3GS21B’s. You may notice a slight difference in color in the pages moved over from the Green Goats site because of the different color scheme on this site. I am working to correct that, and have pretty much everything done except the Union Pacific units, which is irrelevant at this point anyhow because I don’t have space to add the UP folder yet.
