EMDX 7101 ElectroMotive Diesel KCS 2836 Nov. 1968 Metro East Ind Demonstration 1, 2, A
EMDX 7102 ElectroMotive Diesel CP 1637 1955 CAD Rail Demonstration 1, 3, B

General Notes:
1. With the introduction of the 7101 and 7102, EMD rolled out a line of low and medium 710-based repower options, complete with microprocessor controls and automatic start/stop option. The offering is basically EMD’s answer to the genset craze.
2. First GP22ECO demonstrator completed, listed in UMLER as GP69ECO when built..
3. Second GP22ECO demonstrator built, work performed at CAD Rail in Lachine, Quebec. When built, the unit was listed in UMLER as a GP67ECO. Discussion at the time of construction was that the unit was slightly lower horsepower than the 7101 because of having less cooling capacity. I cannot source or verify that.

Notes:
A. 7101's demonstrations unkown. Unit sat in McCook, IL at EMD’s plant for well over a year after delivery, then was delivered to TRRA in St. Louis in Sept. 2009, destination unknown.
B. 7102's demonstrations include: Ottawa Central, Ottawa, ON (May 2008); Canadian Pacific, Calgary, AB (June-Sept. 2008); Alaska Railroad, Anchorage, AK (Oct.-Nov. 2008); Tacoma Rail, Tacoma, WA (Dec. 2008); Union Pacific, Fort Worth, TX (Feb-May 2009); Dallas, Garland & Northeastern, Dallas, TX (June 2009); Norfolk Southern, Atlanta, GA & other locations (Aug.-Oct. 2009+).
