General Notes:
1. Though PHL has announced that they are getting low-emissions single engine locomotives from Motive-Power (see this press release: http://www.anacostia.com/latestnews/phl060530.html) they didn't say anything about NRE gensets. Nevertheless, news that they were ordering two 3GS21B's and one 3GS21C was reported in the Trains Magazine special "Locomotive 2007" edition.

Notes:
A. 30-31 build location from Mark Mautner. PHL 30 and 31 departed NRE Mt. Vernon in mid-November, and was transported via UP (Salem, IL-Pine Bluffs, AR-SP Sunset Route) to LA at the end of November 2007.
B. 30’s build data from a photo of the builder's plate by Justin Draper in Nov. 2007.
C. 31 & 33’s builder’s plate data from checks by Mark Mautner.
D. 33-34 build location confirmed by Mark Mautner. PHL 33 and 34 were delivered together, departing Mt. Vernon in early March 2008.

Model: NRE 3GS21C - 2 units
2,100 hp 3-engine genset loco, engines: 3 - Cummins QSK19 (700hp ea.), on 6 axles, w/o dynamic brakes.

General Notes:
1. The 3GS21C has six axles and 3 gensets, 2,100 hp total. Dynamic brakes are an option, but the PHL 80 will not have them. The large housing at the back of the hood is where they would go if they were present. From various sources.

B. In the Spring 2008 PHL newsletter, Pacific Harbor Line president Andrew Fox mentioned that a second six axle genset was expected from NRE. That locomotive, PHL 81, was first seen moving across Arizona and southern California in late August, 2008.
