UP's first group of RP20BD locomoitves was built on the frames of retired B30-7 and B30-7A units, and are classed by UP as RP20GE. From photographic evidence.

UP's order for 80 RP20BD models and 18 RP20BH locomotives is funded by TERP. The units are to be depoloyed in San Antonio (9 units), Houston (43 units) and Fort Worth (46 units). From a Railpower press release and the release of a Union Pacific presentation on Genset switchers in Sacramento, CA July, 2006.

UPY 2607 was interchanged to CSX in early December 2006 at Rotterdam, NY according to SelkirkBranch group on Yahoo discussions.
