Notes:
A

UP's first order for four RP20CD locomoitves was announced by Railpower in a Sept. 12, 2007 press release. The units will go into service in Roseville according to other sources, and will be classed as RP20SD by UP.

B

Core unit numbers for the first four units was provided by Railpower in mid-Jan. 2008. According to Railpower, the group includes former UP SD40-2's UP 3728 (UPY 896), UP 7891 (UPY 897), UP 7916 (UPY 898) and UP 3635 (UPY 899). According to later info, the 3635 was to be 898, and 7916 to be UPY 899.

D
UPY 899 moved from Montreal to Toronto on the morning of May 1, 2008. It was handed over to UP in Chicago in early May 2008. After a break-in period, the 897, 898 and 899 were all photographed together in transit to California on the I-G2OA-6 in Cheyenne, WY in the early morning hours of June 8, 2008.
E
Builder's plate information checked by Bruno Berzins. Please don't send me angry e-mails telling me that the serial matches the 896. I am aware of that, and just as confused as you are. Update: I have been informed by Railpower that this is in error, and they are correcting the problem. Hopefully I will have a correction and update once one is available.
