RPRX 2608

Modoc Railroad Academy 2006 spotted mostly finished at Super Steel in June, 2006. Still there in July, 2006, and I am guessing the build date will be sometime in July, but can't speak from a position of authority. From photo evidence and conversations with users Railfanbear and Dean Splittgerber.

Per my conversation with an MRA employee, the unit number is 2608, not 2006. The unit is shown in these photos with the incorrect number boards mounted in the front. I am told that the correct number boards were mounted on the back. I was also told that the unit is an ex-SP GP35, which was sold to Helm when retired. HLLX 2608 is an ex-SP GP38-2 according to The Diesel Shop's Helm Roster, but it was sold to a railroad in Mexico, so that isn't likely to be our candidate.

The 2608 will ship with RPRX reporting marks because Modoc Rail Academy doesn't have its own. Modoc also has an option for a second unit in 2007.
