Reported by Sean Graham-White that AMTK 599 is actually the former CP 1700. Working to confirm this, but at the very least they are completely identical. Update: this information is confirmed. |

Returned to Railpower from a one-year lease in summer 2008 according to Extra2200South #131, pg 32. According the Railpower, the unit was rebuilt to Gen. IV standards and is now leased to Union Pacific. It was spotted in West Colton, CA as RPRX 2406, with the Amtrak markings painted out. |
