The Piedmont Division of the NMRA will be the host for the NMRA National
Convention, the "PEACHTREE EXPRESS" that will be held in Smyrna, GA in
July of 2013 at the Galeria complex. Checkout this

consider volunteering to help organize or work at the convention.

--- Saturday February 16th. 7-10PM. Piedmont NMRA Live Auction In Marietta, Georgia, at the
First Presbyterian Church. (See NMRA website above for dtails.)
--- Saturday/Sunday February 23rd/24th. 10am-3pm. Winter Stamp Show In Marietta, Georgia, at the
Mansour Center (old Sears building) about 2 blocks west of the Big Chicken.

July 2013-----------------------------
--- July 14-20:
The Piedmont Division of the S.E.R. of the NMRA will host the 2013 NMRA National Convention,
"PEACHTREE EXPRESS".
It is planned to be held at the Galeria Complex in Cobb County, which is located near
I-285 and I-75 intersection. It will run from Monday-Sunday, and feature several tracks
of clinics, layout and industry tours, and the National Train Show (Fri-Sun).

Volunteers will be needed; please consider it! You need to be an NMRA member.

Weekends: The NRHS and Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth,
Georgia is open and offers caboose rides. It is home to the NRHS (National Railway
Historical Society) Atlanta Chapter.
(They just acquired a new-to-them 1947 fire truck & a Checker Cab !)

2nd Tuesdays: National Model Railroad Association: Monthly meeting of the Piedmont
Division, at the Elks Lodge, 1775 Montreal Road in Tucker, Georgia (off LaVista Road, near I-285).

"The Piedmont Division promotes model railroading to its members and the public by providing
information, fellowship and organized activities that are educational, entertaining
and engaging. The division operates within and supports the goals of the NMRA
www.nmra.org and the Southeastern Region.

November is National Model railroading month. About 50 Piedmont Division
NMRA members in north Georgia with layouts will
be hosting open houses at various times every Saturday and Sunday in November.

The Southern Museum (full name: The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive
History) located in Kennesaw, Georgia has rolled out it's "General-II" for use in youth programs.
Other kids programs are coming. The Education Center is now open. It also hosts Kennesaw
Historical Society talks, and is a Smithsonian Affiliate museum hosting S.I.T.E.S. traveling
exhibits.

The North Atlanta Trade Center or NATS (formerly a Richway Store)
in Norcross, Georgia is just east of I-85. It is the site of many railroad-themed shows
throughout the year. Exit 101 (Indian Trail) about 3 miles north of the I-285/I-85

The Marietta Museum of History is located off the square in Marietta, Georgia
within a dozen yards of the A&W (CSX) railroad tracks. It is in the building where James
Andrews stayed and plotted to steal the locomotive "General" during the Civil War.

The North Georgia Live Steamers or NGLS, a 1&1/2" live steam club is building
