GT Trolley Collection
This web site was created in the memorial of George Thomson and William (Bill) Moeck.
These two men were the last of the founding members of Salt Creek Society of Model Engineers.
The Salt Creek Society of Model Engineers was formed in 1956. This group of dedicated model railroaders had to build most everything from scratch for the layout. The Club built the layout according to NMRA standards and opened its doors to the public in 1957. Over the next few years the layout had become so well known that it has appeared in two national magazines.
When George retired in 1998 him and his best friend Bill created a HO trolley layout in his basement that runs off the overhead wire. Just like the one they build over 40 years as part of the Salt Creek layout.
