WARNING LIGHT FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES

"15100 GYRALITE"

Through reflector design and a special prismatic lens 16 the beam angular sweep of the beam is greatly increased as is the flash effect produced to an observer of this light.

Lens 16 is used to increase the beam spread.

The filament of the light bulb 46 lies at the focal point of the reflector 37.

The parabolic reflector 37 is preferably angularly offset relative to the rotational axis of the shaft carrying the reflector so as to project the beam of light in a light pattern as a generatrix of a right conical surface on rotation of the motor 21.

This particular light unit has a 6" parabolic reflector having a 4 1/2° angular divergence. (This means that the beam thickness or diameter amounts to 4 1/2°).

The optical spreading lens 16 contains a prism portion 15 which enhances the multiple flash effect and produces an extreme sweeep of 30° angular. Multiple flash effect is produced throughout a finite area lying directly in the path of intended travel of a vehicle by means of the reflector design and the spreading of the beam by the prismatic lens.
