NMRA Introduction to Model Railroading Web pages put together by the National Model Railroad Association to introduce people to model railroading.

O Gauge Magazine Online Forums Highly active online forums.  O Gauge magazine hosts forums covering 2-rail and 3-rail operation, DCS, TMCC, and many other aspects of the hobby.

World's Greatest Hobby The World's Greatest Hobby is an advertising and public relations effort to promote the hobby of model railroading. With the primary goal of building awareness about the hobby, the campaign educates the public about the joys of model railroading.

Cyberspace World Railroad Billed as the oldest continuously running railroad web site in the world. Has links, downloads, and information covering almost all aspects of trains, both real and model.

Gord's Model Rail Page A complete listing of everything O Scale on the web. Links for manufactures, dealers, clubs, part suppliers and more are included on this extensive list.

NMRA Directory of World Wide Rail Sites The NMRA Directory is a categorized listing of 'hyperlinks' to prototype and model railroading web sites around the world. From official model manufacturer and railroad industry sites to those created by folks who just love the hobby.

O-Gauge Toy Train Page The O-Gauge Toy Train Page is dedicated to everyone that runs, collects, and enjoys o-gauge toy trains. Contains a huge collection of links to other o-gauge web sites.

Railroad Depot The Railroad Depot, where you can find information on Real Trains, Model Trains, and Watching Trains.

Rails USA An all-rail, all-American Internet Search Engine & Directory. Rails USA offers free rail classifieds, a discussion forum, a section where you can post events and trains shows, a visitor's photo gallery where you can post rail photos in real time plus many other useful features.

RailwayStation.com RailwayStation.com is an online community for railfans. The site features railroad-related history, images, media, software, and services.

Steam Locomotive dot Com Great resource for information about north american steam locomotives.

Tinplate Trackers O-Gauge Modular System Online Manual This online version of the Tinplate Trackers manual has a great deal of valuable information for anyone interested in modular railroading.

Trainorders.com Trainorders.com covers trains both model and real.  The sites features include video and sound clips, photographs, discussion forums, live chat, virtual reality scenes and the Live RailCam Network

TrainWeb Information and photographs relating to passenger, freight and model trains in the U.S. and Worldwide plus items of interest to the professional rail industry.  This site covers all aspects of railroading, and they're our host.

Great American Train Show (GATS) Billed as the world's largest promoter of model train shows. GATS shows include the Great American Train Show and the Great Midwest Train Show. Model trains, parts and accessories. Operating layouts in various scales.

Great Scale Model Train Shows Billed as the largest shows in the country dedicated to building and operating scale model railroads. Scale model railroad items and accessories. Operating layouts in various scales and informative demos.

Greenberg Shows One-stop shopping with model and toy trains, parts and accessories, hobby books, die-cast action figures and collectible toys. Operating layouts in various scales. Informative how-to clinics.

OTHER TRAIN CLUBS IN THE DC AREA (For those of you who don't do hi-rail)

National Capital Trackers If a more traditional toy train approach to model railroading is your preference, be sure to visit the trackers online or at almost any train show in the DC area .  This is one of the most active modular clubs around.  The club's layouts feature a wide variety of O-gauge trains and operating accessories.

Northern Virginia Model Railroaders The Northern Virginia Model Railroaders, Inc. is a club operated HO-scale layout located in the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad (W&OD) train station at 231 Dominion Road, Vienna, Virginia.  Public open houses are held throughout year.

Northern Virginia NTRAK Northern Virginia NTRAK is a large and very active N scale club. Their layout features highly detailed modules and long trains.

Prince William County Model Railroad Club HO modular club layout that is displayed at shows and events throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area.

WAMALUG WAMALUG stands for the Washington Metro Area LEGO Users Group.  This group promotes the hobby of building things, including trains, using LEGOs.  They display their LEGO train layout at shows around the Washington DC metropolitan area.

HI-RAIL OUTSIDE THE DC AREA

Angels Gate Hi-Railers (California) Official home page of the Angels Gate Hi-Railers Model Railroad Club (AGHR). The club is located in Angels Gate Park, 3601 South Gaffey Street, Building 848 in San Pedro, California on what used to be the upper reservation of the old Fort MacArthur military base.

Boston Metro Hi-Railers Official home page of the Boston Metro Hi-Railers. The club is located in a pleasant neighborhood in the basement of a former church at 99 Essex St. in Melrose, Massachusetts..
