Wyoming/Colorado Railroad Winter 2016-2017 |

The winter of 2016-2017 has been especially brutal on the Oregon Eastern. Substantial snowfall forced the railroad to suspend operations for several days, and then accumulated snow caused a derailment while shoving a train across the Shunn Road crossing east of Vale. The railroad then had to wait several days until a crane could be rented to help put the car back on the rails. Travis Bradfield sent these pictures along of the derailment. |
