Mission & Philosophy

HO Model Engineers Society Inc

Hamilton, Ontario

Founded 1948

Mission

To share, operate, and encourage the appreciation and enjoyment of a model railway which strives to accurately represent the operation and appearance of transition-era railways in South Central Ontario.

Club Philosophy

In order to work productively and fully enjoy the hobby of model railroading, all the members are encouraged to work towards the same vision of what is being created.

The actual operation of a model railroad is the key to the long term enjoyment and interest. Operation as at its most enjoyable when the railroad and its equipment have been built to realistic standards.

No one can know everything, so novice members to the club are welcomed with a mentoring program. Each new member is given the opportunity to work with one or more senior members as part of a team that is building and entire scenic location from track-work to electrical to buildings and scenery.

We realise not everyone enjoys every aspect of the hobby, so there is room for a member to specialise if they so desire or have a special skill or interest. Likewise, we are prepared to teach you skills of any area of the hobby you choose.

If you feel model railroading is the hobby for you, and enjoy the companionship of fellow hobbyists, come down and check us out. We meet every Tuesday evening after 7:00 p.m. We would be happy to welcome you.

Come and learn from us, and enjoy this journey.
